Dear miss Alexandra, lady of the lake
I wish you'd lay your head to rest and your heart for goodness sake
Many years have passed and your bones have long since gone
But your treasure remains, you can hear her cry at dawn
My journey began, back in 1883
I traveled to through the lands, to the valley of the three
There was a lady, as pretty as can be
Her name was Alexandra, and the men bowed at her feet
Stories of a treasure, that lay up in the hills
Many men would search for her, and try to test their skills
I was among the chosen to retrieve what she did want
For it was not a simple task forever it did haunt
Well my days are numbered now I know
These bones are getting old
For I search the mountains far above
To try and win her love; I'll win her love
Well you may not believe, what these eyes have seen
We pulled back the rubble to see what lies between
As ten men we stand, shovels in hand
As we look down beneath, on golden ground we stand
We loaded up the riches and sent it down the tracks
Little did we know, we'd never get her back
As the train came rushing the tracks they couldn't hold
It tumbled down the valley to the deep lake below
Well my days are numbered now I know
These bones are getting old
For I search the mountains far above
To try and win her love; I'll win her love
Well my days are numbered now I know
This blood is running cold
For I search the mountains far above
To try and win her love
Well my days are numbered now I know
These bones are getting old
For I search the mountains far above
To try and win her love; I'll win her love

Ripple in the Stream

Well I'm awake and it's morning time
And the sun is sweeping the mountain side
Oh what a sight!
The coffee's on and I'm all alone
With a dog just itching to go
I know, we'll be walking soon
Hey pup, stop your whining I know!
Oh what a day to wander in the shine
And what a day to lay down a line
That’s all I have been waiting for
Well we walked for miles it seems
Til I see a ripple in the stream
I know what lies beneath
A perfect drift right over the nose
A perfect drift right over the nose

My Way Back Home
02:46
|

You know I'm not the one to be afraid of the sun
And I will never stray away from the dark of the days
And we will sit on the coast and watch the sea
As it twists and turns as the black skies roll
We need to find our way back home
Where we can weather the storm
Like two birds separate between miles of sky
They try to find as they fly follow magnetic lines
But the winds they blow so hard pushes them far apart
And the branches of the trees covers them from the breeze
But we need to find our way back home
Where we can weather the storm

Dead Man's Flats

I heard a story when I was just a boy, about a place that could destroy
Your thoughts your mind and your soul
My father told me it's haunted you see, from when the cowboys were fighting the Cree.
And oh, so many lives were lost that day
A battle raged a hundred years ago, but it's not fair when the gun meets the bow
They fought but they still lost their land
The ghosts of the story still linger in my mind this is a place that I have to find
But oh, my father tells me no
And so he tells me...
Things exist down there you will see
Things I can tell you that you won't believe
And if you go there you'll never come back
When you enter, the Dead Man's Flats
When I was young my mom would always say, your sense of wonder might kill you someday
But no, you know I've never learned
The rusted old train tracks that snake through the heart of the fields might be a place to start
As I descend into the flats
I make my way around a weathered old shack, as something softly taps me on the back
My heart has stopped and I can't breathe
Eye to eye I am locked in a stare, with wrinkles deep and bright white hair
The ghost of the Native chief
He parts his lips and he starts to say
My son I wish you didn't come this way
Vengeance I seek and I will have it I swear
Your life is my so say your last prayer
I hear my father...
Things exist down there you now see
Things I have told you that you now believe
You have gone and you'll never come back
Now you've entered, the Dead Man's Flats

Chasing Sunsets
02:59
|

Well my soles are wearing thin there's miles behind me
And this cracked old weathered grin just wait and see, wait and see
Well the sun is setting now, and I'm heading west
And the colours in the sky they're something else, they're something else
Ohh, another dusty road
Ohh, there's so far left to go
Well my heels are dragging now they're leaving trails
And the knots tied in my boots, they're coming loose, coming loose
Been chasing sunsets all my life, from time to time
They get away from me and I, I fear the night, I fear the night
Ohh, another dusty road
Ohh, there's so far left to go
Well the night is clearing out and the winds are calming down
and still I walk
Ohh, another dusty road
Ohh, there's not far left to go

This Old Ghost Town Kelowna, British Columbia
March 22, 1881. Three weary travelers make camp. They had stumbled on a treasure and as they searched through it they found some line made of steel, a few old boxes, small circular discs, and a few pieces wood.
